Accommodation in Galway

Cartron House Farm is nestled in the Slieve Aughty mountains between Connemara to the Northwest and The Burren to the Southwest.

To the West , Loughrea, takes it’s name from the beautiful lake on which it stands and is surrounded by a 13th century moat.

The lake has earned European Blue Flag status and the Long Point area is well equipped with changing rooms parking and picnic areas.

To the South, Portumna, is a popular centre for fishing and a marina for Lough Derg and the River Shannon. The Forest Park, just outside the town, is a wildlife sanctuary of one thousand acres bordering Lough Derg, with many lovely forest walks and nature trails.

Galway City and Salthill are under an hour’s drive away and well worth a visit.
